Back in April, Proalfa entered the FSB Hertfordshire Small Business Awards, and were subsequently shortlisted as finalists in both categories they entered, "Service Excellence" and "Best New Business in Hertfordshire".
Proalfa felt reaching the finalist stages and being drawn in the final four in both categories was a huge achievement in itself.
On 13th May at Tewinbury Farm Hotel the FSB Awards Gala final was held. Proalfa attended with high hopes of winning their categories.
The dinner was fantastic and the awards ceremony was tense.
As the award winners and runners up were being announced the atmosphere grew thick with anticipation. The Service Excellence runner up was announced; leaving Chris and Luis both incredibly tense until the point that the judges announced: “The winner is...Proalfa!”.
Proalfa (Chris and Luis) were invited onto the stage to collect their Service Excellence award presented by the FSB panel.
The Service Excellence award was focused on delivering the best customer service, going above and beyond the call of duty and really making sure customers have the best experience possible.
As if that wasn’t enough for the evening, by the time they had got back to the table with their winner’s complimentary bottle of champagne their second category was being announced.
To their delight, Proalfa were also crowned runner-up for the “Best New Business in Hertfordshire”.
“To even be nominated for Best New Business meant so much to us as it was recognition of all the hard work that has gone into the business, and also that other people acknowledge what we have established in such a short period of time
“When putting together our entry, we made sure it had every single bit of feedback we had collected from our customers since we opened our doors. Our feedback is collated from www.alfaowner.com, www.trustatrader.com and www.thegoodgragescheme.co.uk. We have put our heart and soul into this business and our main aim is to make sure we give the best service possible to all of our customers.
“Over the last year we have built up a flawless reputation, moved into bigger premises, and are forever expanding a very satisfied customer base. Above all we are always developing a greater passion for what we do.
“We entered two categories in the FSB awards and were shortlisted as finalists in both. Winning one category and becoming runner-up in the other was a fantastic result for us. The fact that we haven’t yet been trading for a whole calendar year made the awards so much more special.”
Chris and Luis would like to personally thank all of their customers for all their feedback and support to this date. Without our customers, winning this award wouldn’t be possible.

World Record Attempt - Largest Alfa convoy in the World! 07.02.10
On Sunday 7th Feb, Proalfa along with at least 300 other Alfa's at Allam's in Epsom the plan was to break the world record for the biggest Alfa convoy in the world! This was organised by Alfaowner.com and Allams of Epsom.
The day started early with us meeting with the rest of the hertfordshire gang at South Mimms at 8.30am!
Thankfully we had all heard the jokes about the' RAC having a field day', and the 'AA are going to be on standby' by this point, and we were ready to leave South Mimms
A good turnout with a convoy of around 15 cars from South Mimms heading down towards Epsom. The journey round the M25 wasnt bad and traffic was light with the odd supercar making an appearance on the way... see videos..
As we got into Epsom town center, Alfa fever had hit bigtime! Pedestrians on the street asking us what the occaision was, one even commenting 'she hasnt seen so many beautiful cars in her life!'
We arrived at Allams in Epsom and all parked up - by now the Alfa's were swarming the place - and there was Alfaowner fleeces everywhere! We went in registered, made the most of the warmth and the bacon butties and teas inside - and a thankyou to Allams for their hospitality and free teas and coffees. Then it was off to mingle and have a nosy around at some of the cars that had turned up to break that record.
Around 12.45 everyone made their way back to their cars and got their engines running - about 1.10pm the world record attempt began. The plan was to get as many cars over the start and finish line in a convoy without stopping.
Well we and im sure everyone else is happy to say we did it!!!!!!
As the cars went over the finish line and looped around a pre designated route around Epsom and returned to Allams there was smiles all round! everyone collected their certificates and bought their photos, more bacon butties and have to say was a great day out, on top of that we broke a world record!
Some pics and vids of the day.
The rest of the pics and vids can be found in the gallery section of our site here
